Getting Things Done

Somehow November turned into February and we’re more than halfway to the finish line. Except that there was this huge invisible wall that rose up in the middle of the race that prevented us from really making any progress, but time was still ticking away.

Maybe it was the snow - yes, in true Canadian fashion, I should blame it on the weather - or maybe it was just that we needed to get our mind off of the wedding and attend to some of life’s other demands. So…first there was that thing with the car breaking down (the tensioner belt broke and fell off which made two other belts break which flooded the coolant and broke the thermostat, plus there was that other dangly wire hanging off the bottom of the car which promised to wreak future havoc). Then there’s Khiem’s new project that brings him to Minnesota a lot (pros: we’re racking up some crazy Aeroplan and Starwood points for our honeymoon and I get to sleep without the incessant snoring/con: I actually miss him - yeah, I know, it surprises me too). Plus there’s me juggling a new job and other projects, including tapping out on my writing quota each week with my other blogging duties. My projects are all good though, because I’m doing things I like, minus the super stress and super loooong days.

Speaking of stress, the wedding stress that some people talk about hasn’t set in yet (and hopefully won’t at all), but there did seem to be a bit more urgency recently to things which has created a flurry of activity in the last week or so. Which means that plans are coming together, and by the end of March we should have most wedding “tasks” set in place. I feel super excited and motivated (that euphoria that came after the first few days/weeks after the engagement is back), and am really liking how things are working out with some of the vendors we’re working with!

And about Khiem…well, he’s just making sure he’s partying out his single days to the max!
